There was definite wedding fever going on this summer with two separate friends getting married in stunning locations in Scotland. As a bridesmaid at one and guest at the other I wanted to create something extra special for each couple. Above are the results of hand pressed petals and dried out rose buds I collected from the garden.

Mosaic Art
Beautiful handmade mosaic patterns created by members at Impact Art's Craft Cafe - a community arts project in Govan, Glasgow for over 60's. Every Wednesday I work as an Assistant Arts Tutor with the group and witness amazing creations being designed and made by a wonderful group of local people from the community.

Another Minimalism
Art After Californian Light and Space
Another Minimalism brings together works of art that are made as we look at them and experience them, altered by ever-changing conditions of light and time. Light - natural and artificial, filtered, projected, reflected and refracted - is the primary material in the exhibition. Words by Melissa E. Feldman
Above are images of projections created by Olafur Eliasson tilted Ephemeral afterimage I saw at the Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh this week. I love his use of shape and colour, creating images that transform and blend together from one slide to the next.

The Power of Mandalas
"Mandalas are designs that draw your eye towards their centres, and in doing so, focus the mind. Historically, mandalas are ancient forms of meditative art: the symmetrical, concentric circles are designed to ease the overloaded mind and release its deep-rooted creative and expressive inclination. Mandalas are found in deeply rooted and diverse cultures and religions across the world, wherever there is an impulse to tap into an unexplored part of the mind or spirit." Words by Tiddy Rowan.
Seeking inspiration from the beautiful mandalas by Paul Heussenstamm.

Contemporary Jewellery Exchange 2014
Last year I took part in the Contemporary Jewellery Exchange which featured designers and makers from all across the globe. The Exchange was initiated by a simple Facebook post from jeweller Olga Raben, based in Sweden. The response was phenomenal with the final number of participents reaching nearly 400. I was paired with a Spanish designer, Andrea Coderch, with whom I would made a piece for and sent to her in Spain. Above is an image of the neckpiece I made, titled "Felicidad". New Collection For Summer Pop Up Shop
The "Pressed" Collection was inspired by the delicacy of petals found scattered on the ground, their shape and colour changing as they become more fragile and transparent. This Limited Edition of work is on display and available to buy in Stockbridge, Edinburgh as part of the Twenty Eight Collective Pop Up Shop.
